"Nobody sees a flower- really- it takes time- we haven't time-and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time."-Georgia O'Keeffe
Take time to see, really look and explore even the things we know so well, as if for the first time.
By choosing to take time to listen and observe with curiosity we are able to fully experience the present moment. Opening up to the inner voice of the mind, the physical sensations of the body, the perception of your experience. By being present we gain an insight to existence.
Sitting in a chair or on a meditation cushion.
Explore where you notice the breath, maybe in the cheast, the belly, the ribs...?
Just notice, explore with curiosity. See if there is an expectation to feel it in a particular area?
Maybe notice as the breath travels, how the body shifts with the breath. The change in the breath as it moves into the lungs, the pause as the inhale finishes and returns as the exhale.
In through the nose or mouth out through the nose or mouth.
The breath rolls in, the breath rolls out just like the waves in the ocean.
“If you love a flower, don’t pick it up.
Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love.
So if you love a flower, let it be.
Love is not about possession.
Love is about appreciation.”
Be present with this life, your life. Take time to just be.
